These shoes are extremely special….but only for the professional mechanics for which they were developed.  The company, Specialty Footwear International, spent two years working with a select group of over 350 auto mechanics developing these shoes.  The mechanics were from many different segments of the automotive service repair industry. Included were mechanics that worked at vehicle dealerships, independent vehicle maintenance and repair centers, quick lubes, installers, brake shops, muffler shops, tire installers, fleet specialists and truck repair centers.  We tested each and every feature included in these shoes with some part of this group.

The result has been a special work shoe that will outperform every other work shoe currently available for the auto mechanic.  These shoes were not made to work construction or agriculture, and are not designed for the electrician, plumber, cable installer or for the stock person at the local grocery store.

The special features of these shoes are listed below:

WATERPROOF/CHEMICAL RESISTANT – this feature will not only protect the shoes and your feet from wetness, but also insures that moisture does not enter this shoe from the work place which can cause fungus and mildew which in turn can cause bacterial problems and foot problems. This protection will also insure that your customer’s shoes will outlast most other work shoes, which are exposed to the mechanics work place environment.

ARMOR GUARD – steel toe work shoes will protect feet from dropped tools and equipment, but cause the work shoe to be heavy and unbalanced. Heavy work shoes will cause foot, leg and back fatigue. The Mechanics Shoes include a special feature, which we refer to as a belt of armor, which totally surrounds the foot and will protect the foot from the normal drops and bumps that occur in the mechanics work place. While this armor belt is not steel, it will do the job for the mechanic in the modern mechanics work place, while allowing these shoes to be extremely light weight and totally flexible. The lightweight, but total flexibility, helps to eliminate foot and leg fatigue and will help to reduce back stress and back pain as well. 

DOUBLE SET OF INSERTS – the mechanics shoes come with two sets of inserts. One in the shoe and a second pair in the package. These inserts will be the collection point for any moisture that another feature called “X-static” will deliver from the inside of the mechanics shoe. At the end of the workday, we recommend that the damp inserts be removed and allowed to dry for 24 hours and the second, dry pair of inserts used. Dry feet in the morning will help to eliminate problems which are caused by dampness and the dry set of inserts every day will insure that your feet are getting the very best care possible from their work boots.

POSTURE CONTROL – the entire mechanics shoe is designed to keep the foot in a balanced and proper position. Because this feature makes it nearly impossible to stand with incorrect posture, much of the “stress” and back pain, which comes from long hours of standing on hard surfaces is eliminated. You are going to notice a major difference in both the comfort of these shoes and how much better their posture becomes because of the posture guard system built into each pair of the mechanics shoes.

THE COMFORT POCKET – never before has there been a work shoe that has a feature like this. The comfort pocket is unique. Several of the features of the mechanics shoes combine to create an inner pocket, which we like to refer to as a “cocoon” for the foot. There really is no way to describe this feature other than to tell your customer that when they put this shoe on their foot that it will be apparent that “foot comfort” has been taken to a whole new level.

ODOR ELIMINATION – another special feature of the mechanics shoes.  A very special product called “X-static” is a feature, which will deliver something that we have not found in any work shoe designed for the mechanic.  This patented material transfers any odor causing moisture from around the foot down to the special insole insert which is then replaced at least daily thus elimination the chance for odors to get started.

LEATHER AGEING CORRECTIVE – this is a feature, which is exclusive to the Mechanics Shoes. All leather stretches with age and use, and when that happens, the internal sizing of the “foot pocket” gets bigger. This is not a good thing as the internal foot pocket, which becomes larger, allows the foot too much space and “wobble” is then possible. When wobble occurs, ankle sprains and other ankle and leg problems can be created. The mechanic shoes Armor Guard System locks the leather components in place so that the leather can never stretch and the internal foot pocket will always be the correct size.

EASY CLEANING – these shoes have been made with the very finest of materials and treated with space age coatings.  The entire outside of the shoe is easy to keep clean.  Simply wipe off with a clean, moist cloth or sponge daily. Good old soap and water will keep these shoes clean and looking great for a long time. Regular cleaning is recommended.

HIGH END COMPONENTS AND MATERIALS – insure that your customer mechanics shoes will last much longer than the average work shoe.  Only the very best components are used throughout the shoe and the manufacturing standards are extremely high. Each shoe is double or triple stitched and the components are reinforced where they come together. These shoes are going to last much longer than the average work shoes.

STEEL SHANK – there is a very special steel shank, which is the “backbone” for these shoes and ties all of the components together.  The steel shank “anchors the components and serves as the base for what you will find as the strongest and most comfortable work shoe that you have ever owned.

TREAD DESIGN – special care was taken in the design of the tread for this shoe.  This patented design and the materials used to create the outsole for the mechanic shoes is the creation of one of the most famous Italian shoe designers. This tread design will not work if climbing a mountain, but for the work done buy the mechanic, this tread design will be perfect for all of the functions performed in that environment.
